On July 4th, local time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated in a regular evening video address that Russia had launched a large-scale attack, consisting of over 500 attack drones and various missiles.
Zelensky mentioned that Ukraine’s air defense forces demonstrated strong combat capabilities, but some drones and missiles managed to breach the defense lines, causing certain losses.
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine had made significant achievements in intercepting drones on the same day, successfully downing dozens of Russian “suicide drones.” He expressed that Ukraine would “maximize scale” by increasing production of such interceptor drones. Additionally, comprehensive training and preparation for drone operators will be strengthened, with this being explicitly listed as a combat mission.
