President Trump stated on the 3rd that he is considering holding a Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event at the White House to celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s independence next year, expecting the event to attract over 20,000 spectators.
Trump proposed this idea during a rally in Iowa to kick off the 2026 series of celebrations for America’s 250th Independence Day. He mentioned that special celebrations would be held at every national park and historical site in the United States, “I think we need to have a UFC…at the White House, where there’s plenty of space.”
Trump added that it would be a “complete match” that could draw between 20,000 and 25,000 spectators.
UFC is an organization dedicated to mixed martial arts, and Trump is a fervent fan who attended the event immediately after his victory in 2024. He has a close relationship with UFC President Dana White, who sat next to him in the Octagon last month.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that Trump was “very serious” about the plan.
