On the 4th local time, senior advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Khamenei, Vilayati stated that
Iran firmly defends its legitimate rights in scientific development and national dignity, including the right to peacefully utilize nuclear energy.
Vilayati emphasized, “No force can prevent Iran from exercising its legitimate rights.”
On June 25th, the Iranian Parliament passed an act suspending cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The act prohibits IAEA inspectors from entering Iran for verification unless it is ensured that Iran’s nuclear facilities are secure and Iran has the right to peacefully use nuclear energy, which requires approval from the Supreme National Security Council of Iran. President Hassan Rouhani subsequently approved this act.
