According to the Kazinform news agency, a shooting incident occurred in Qiqkent, the third-largest city of Kazakhstan, on the evening of the 21st. The incident resulted in the injury of the deputy mayor of the city, Berezov.
The report states that around 20:30 local time, a shooting incident occurred near the Qiqkent City Government Building. The suspect was apprehended on the spot. Berezov was shot three times, injuring his lungs and liver. After surgery, his vital signs have stabilized.
The suspect was once under Berezov’s subordinate and was recently dismissed.
The shooting incident is suspected to be a private revenge act.
