It has been learned that, as of the 7th local time, an Israeli official stated that the ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip held in Doha, the capital of Qatar, have not made any progress and it is unlikely to reach an agreement this week.
This Israeli official, who is close to Prime Minister Netanyahu, mentioned that if the United States does not further exert pressure, it may be difficult for relevant parties to reach an agreement on the ceasefire and the exchange of detainees in the Gaza Strip this week.
Another source indicated that the disagreements between Israel and Hamas mainly revolve around humanitarian aid and the deployment of Israeli military forces during the ceasefire period. Israel hopes to maintain the humanitarian aid distribution mechanism led by the “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation,” which was established with support from both the US and Israel. On the other hand, Hamas demands the restoration of the UN-led distribution of humanitarian supplies in the Gaza Strip. Additionally, Israel requires control over areas such as the southern Morag corridor, Philadelphia corridor, and Lafayette, while Hamas opposes this.
