It has been reported that, as of the evening of July 7th local time, a flood disaster in Texas, USA, has resulted in at least 104 deaths. The majority of these fatalities occurred in Ker County. At least 84 people have died in this county, including 28 children.
It is understood that on July 7th, Texas’s Deputy Governor Dan Patrick admitted that flood alarms installed along riverbanks might have saved lives. These alarms need to be installed before next summer. Ker County officials had considered installing these alarms but hesitated due to their high cost. (Cao Jian)
