According to a report by Cailian Press on July 9th, the emergency action center of the Lebanese Ministry of Health confirmed that the Israeli Defense Forces launched a series of airstrikes in southern and northern Lebanon on the evening of the 8th. A short time earlier, an Israeli drone strike on a car in the southern town of Babiley in the Sedad district resulted in one death. The same day, the Israeli military’s drone also attacked a car near El Qamariyah in northern Lebanon, causing three deaths and 13 injuries. The Lebanese Square TV station stated that the Israeli military’s airstrikes on the 8th marked a significant expansion in the geographical scope of Israel’s invasion of Lebanon, no longer confined to its usual targets in the south. Earlier that day, the Israeli military claimed to have bombed the northern city of Beirut, with the death of senior leader of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Maher al-Mutallah, occurring during their military operations. This marks the first attack by Israel north of Beirut since the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon took effect on November 27, 2024.
