On the evening of the 8th, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) released footage of their operations targeting Tripoli.
According to an announcement by the IDF on the evening of the 8th, the senior leader of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Lebanon, “Mahlan Mustafa Barzour,” was killed during the military operation launched by the IDF that day.
At present, there is no response from Hamas.
Earlier that day, the IDF claimed to have launched airstrikes against the northern city of Tripoli, targeting a key Hamas armed individual. Additionally, Lebanese media reported that the attack took place in the outskirts of the Bedawi Palestinian refugee camp in Tripoli. Eyewitnesses at the scene described how two missiles were fired consecutively from an IDF drone at a car, which then caught fire and burned.
This marks the first time since the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon came into effect on November 27, 2024, that the IDF has launched an attack north of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. (CCTV Mi Chunze)
