at least 18 Palestinians had died in attacks by Israel on central and southern areas of the Gaza Strip.
Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, located in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, announced that Israeli Defense Forces drones had attacked a tent belonging to displaced persons in Khan Younis on the same day, resulting in at least three deaths and five injuries.
The Israeli Defense Forces released a statement on the 8th, stating that
a commander from the elite unit of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) was killed in Khan Younis.
Furthermore, according to the Israeli “Jerusalem Post”, citing military sources, an Israeli army unit was killed late at night on the 7th in northern Gaza during a mission when a roadside bomb exploded, killing five soldiers. During the transfer of injured soldiers, the Israeli forces were also shot at, resulting in 14 soldiers being wounded in the attack, two of whom were seriously injured.
