[Report] According to a report by the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated on the 10th that he is preparing for a meeting with Chinese Foreign Ministers during the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held in Malaysia. The report mentioned that if this meeting takes place, it will be the first face-to-face talks between the foreign ministers since his appointment in January of this year.
Blinken expressed, “I think we are moving forward with this and perhaps we will meet.”
On July 9th local time, the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and related events commenced in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Foreign ministers and government officials from ASEAN countries attended together to engage in in-depth discussions on regional and international hot topics, exploring ways to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region. In addition to the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, several bilateral and multilateral meetings were also scheduled during the conference.
