The General Information Office has learned that on July 14th, local time, the Special Investigation Team for Disorders within South Korea conducted a seizure and search of the Military Drone Operations Command.
Yoon Suk-yeol was arrested again after 124 days
In the early hours of July 10th, local time, the Central District Court in Seoul, South Korea, approved the arrest application submitted by the Special Investigation Team for Disorders and issued an arrest warrant against former President Yoon Suk-yeol. Yoon Suk-yeol was immediately taken into custody. This marks the 124th day Yoon Suk-yeol has been detained since his detention was lifted by the court on March 8th this year.
On June 6th, the Special Investigation Team responsible for investigating emergency martial law incidents filed a request with the court to arrest Yoon Suk-yeol on charges of abuse of power and other related offenses. Following Yoon Suk-yeol’s arrest, the Special Investigation Team will conduct an investigation lasting up to 20 days.
Previously, the Special Investigation Team had stated that Yoon Suk-yeol is suspected of obstructing special official duties, violating the “Presidential Guard Law,” abuse of power, forging official documents, among others. Since the suspicions related to the disorder crime listed in the request for arrest have been confirmed during the prosecutorial and police investigation phases, it is expected that the subsequent investigation will focus on Yoon Suk-yeol’s foreign enemy crime suspicions, including allegations of creating pretexts for martial law declarations, using drones to invade North Korean capital Pyongyang, and provoking the North (Zhang Yun, General Information Office).
