According to Xinhua News Agency, citing the American Axios news website on the 13th, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he will make a “major statement” regarding Russia on the local time of the 14th. Sources revealed that Trump will announce a new plan to “arm Ukraine,” which includes providing offensive weapons to Ukraine.
If this plan is finalized, it would represent a significant shift in Trump’s policy towards Ukraine. Previously, he has consistently stated that he would only provide “defensive weapons” to avoid escalating conflicts.
On the 13th, Trump was interviewed by the media at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. Image source: Cited from foreign media.
The plan was proposed by Ukrainian President Zelensky during the NATO summit two weeks ago and will be unveiled during Trump’s meeting with NATO Secretary-General Matt Lutteg.
Insiders revealed that they have reason to believe that the plan might include long-range missiles capable of striking deep into Russian territory (including Moscow), but they are still unclear about whether a final decision has been made.
South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham commented, “Trump is very angry with Putin. His statement on the 14th will be very aggressive.”
In response, the White House did not respond to requests for comment.
