In just five months, from a barren wasteland to the emergence of a modern coastal city! On the 13th, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un inspected the construction site of the shallow-water aquaculture enterprise in Yeollan County, South Hamgyong Province. Faced with the tremendous changes before him, he beamed and repeatedly praised, “I am extremely satisfied.” This was not merely the completion of an engineering project but also fulfilled a long-held wish for Kim Jong Un.
On the 14th, China News Service reported: “Comrade Kim Jong Un said that after the announcement of the commencement of work in February this year, many changes have occurred in less than a few months; not through words or texts, but through the vivid transformations before our eyes, fully demonstrating our Party’s grand vision and firm will as well as its practicality in vigorously promoting local development.”
This means that within just five months, the “construction project has been rapidly advanced and entered the final stage.” At the same time, Kim Jong Un requested that on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party in Korea, the goal of “presenting the world’s most beautiful small fishing village to the people of Yeollan County” should be realized.
Kim Jong Un highly praised the construction of the base, believing it not only learns advanced experiences but also embodies modernization, advancement, and originality, perfectly harmonizing with the local environment. North Korean media reported that this greatly pleased Kim Jong Un.
Especially, the new residential buildings are all luxurious villas, allowing fishermen to move directly into “seaside villas.” During his inspection, Kim Jong Un pointed out, “Our North Korean-style Yeollan fishing village has finally been born. The dream of presenting the world’s most beautiful small fishing village to the people of Yeollan County has been fulfilled.”
This further confirmed his goals set at the start of the construction ceremony.
On February 2025, during the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Yeollan County shallow-water aquaculture enterprise, China News Service reported.
On February 14th this year, Kim Jong Un attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Yeollan County shallow-water aquaculture enterprise. At that time, he had set a goal: to build a more outstanding and distinctive aquatic base than the Shinpo City shallow-water aquaculture enterprise, constructing a beautiful fishing village unseen before.
