Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated on July 15th local time that US President Donald Trump seems fixated on tariffs, and any trade agreement reached with the United States could potentially include accepting a certain percentage of tariffs on exports.
Trudeau mentioned that there is “not much evidence” indicating that the US is willing to reach an agreement without imposing partial tariffs. He believes that most countries may have to accept a certain level of benchmark tariffs imposed by the US on their goods.
Trudeau also revealed that negotiations with the US are expected to “intensify” in the coming weeks. (Reported by Zhang Sen)
