The Houthi armed forces in Yemen announced on the 15th that their forces launched three drones to carry out “synchronized” military operations against two locations in Israel, successfully achieving their objectives.
Yehaia Salar, spokesperson for the Houthi armed forces in Yemen, stated through a statement released by the organization’s controlled Masirah TV station that during the military operation, two drones attacked an important military target in southern Negev, while another targeted the city of Eilat along the Red Sea coast.
Salar reiterated that the Houthi armed forces would continue to take military actions against Israel until it ceases its invasion of Gaza and lifts its blockade.
Earlier that day, the Israeli military issued a statement saying that the Israeli Air Force intercepted a drone launched from Yemen targeting Eilat. The statement did not specify whether there were any casualties or property damage.
Since the outbreak of new rounds of conflict between Israel and Palestine in October 2023, the Houthi armed forces have frequently launched missile and drone attacks against multiple Israeli targets, claiming to support Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. According to Israeli media statistics, from the military’s resumption of operations in the Gaza Strip on March 18 to July 10, the Houthi armed forces had fired nearly 60 ballistic missiles at Israel. In response, Israel has launched several airstrikes against the Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen, targeting key energy facilities and infrastructure, causing significant casualties and property damage.
