According to reports from the United States’ The Hill and other media outlets, the Secret Service of the United States urgently sealed off the North Lawn of the White House on July 15th and required all media personnel present to evacuate to a press briefing room. Reportedly, sources mentioned that there appeared to be “unidentified objects” thrown over the fence of the North Lawn of the White House. Secret Service personnel stood outside the building to enter the briefing room, but no further details were provided. The Secret Service announced the lifting of the blockade about 30 minutes later, allowing access to the North Lawn once again. Regarding this incident, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated in a statement to the media that someone threw their phone over the White House fence, triggering a safety threat alert, which led to the area being blocked. The emergency measures were lifted when it was determined that the object was not a threat. The Indian Express reported that this is not the first security breach at the White House. This year earlier, a child had climbed over the fence of the North Lawn, attempting to enter the White House.
