Sinabamba emphasized the importance of respecting the US-Mexico-Canada trade agreement.
Previously, Trump had sent letters to leaders of 14 countries including Mexico and Canada, threatening these nations with unilateral tariffs if they failed to sign a trade agreement with the United States by August 1st.
