On July 17th, local time, a gold mine in Remedios, Antoquia Province, northeast of Colombia, experienced an collapse, trapping 18 miners.
The Mayor’s Office of Remedios reported that the transport rack for materials loaded into the mine shaft fell, causing the exit structure of the mine to collapse and affecting the ventilation system.
