On July 18th, local time, the Iraqi Joint Command announced that its security forces have recently conducted operations in the desert areas of Ninawah and Salahuddin provinces in northern Iraq. The focus was on several warehouses, valleys, and caves.
The statement indicated that this operation was initiated by Prime Minister and Chief of Armed Forces General Sudan, with direct supervision from the Directorate of Anti-Terrorism. It was coordinated with combat units in Ninawah and Salahuddin provinces, as well as the People’s Mobilization Organizations, to launch multi-frontal attacks aimed at thwarting potential attacks against the Iraqi security forces and critical national infrastructure.
Recently, multiple oil fields in the Kurdistan region (the Kuwaiti Autonomous Region) have been hit by drone attacks. The Iraqi security services have stated their intention to severely crack down on any organizations or individuals attempting to undermine national security or plunder state resources, holding them accountable for their actions.
