According to Evan Sidery of Forbes Sports, the Warriors recently showed interest in Kings guard Ellis, but during negotiations involving Jonathan Kuminga’s first-round pick swap, the Kings have consistently regarded Ellis as a non-trade asset.
The Kings have exercised Ellis’ team option for this season. Ellis will be eligible to sign a new long-term contract in the 2025-26 season. If no renewal is reached between the two parties, the guard will become an unrestricted free agent after the season ends.
Kiyon Ellis, 25, averaged 24.4 minutes per game last season, contributing 8.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 steals. His salary for next season is $2.3 million.
