[Report by Zhao Jiandong] According to a report by TASS on the 20th, citing court documents, American tech giant Google has accumulated a total fine and late payment fees of nearly 27.3 billion rubles (approximately 347 million US dollars) due to non-compliance with a Russian court’s judgment.
The enforcement proceedings against Google commenced between 2021 and 2025, as reported by TASS.
According to TASS, based on rulings from several district courts in Moscow, 16 enforcement measures targeting Google have been initiated, with the total amount exceeding 27 billion rubles. Additionally, according to a decision by the Moscow Business Court, another 35 enforcement measures involving nearly 1.5 million rubles have been activated.
As previously reported by TASS, last year, Google was fined approximately 200 billion US dollars for shutting down multiple Russian TV channel accounts on its video platform YouTube. The Kremlin spokesperson Peskov responded at that time, stating that this figure “has a symbolic significance,” and that Google should not impose restrictions on Russian TV channel accounts on its platform. The best thing that the company’s management can do now is to focus on the current situation and make corrections.
