On the 18th local time, a Boeing 767 aircraft operated by Delta Airlines was scheduled to fly from Los Angeles, California, to Atlanta, Georgia. However, shortly after takeoff, the left engine of the aircraft suddenly caught fire. The crew returned to Los Angeles Airport and safely landed the aircraft 25 minutes later. There were no casualties during the incident.
The Federal Aviation Administration has now initiated an investigation into the matter.
