The Kremlin’s Latest Statement: Putin and Trump’s Meeting is Essential, Will Come to Pass One Day
According to the Russian Satellite News Agency, Dmitry Peskov, the Press Secretary for the President of Russia and spokesperson for the Kremlin, stated on the 20th local time that the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump is essential and will come to pass one day.

“It is possible, and it will come to pass one day. It is also very necessary,” Peskov said in an interview.
The Russian Satellite News Agency reported that when discussing the recent call between Putin and Trump on July 3rd, Peskov mentioned that it was a practical and efficient conversation where both parties firmly held their positions but were also willing to listen to each other’s opinions.
Peskov noted that despite Trump’s “strong and direct” words, he “confirmed his willingness to do everything possible to promote a peaceful resolution” to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. He added that resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict is a complex and lengthy process, and “Washington is likely to increasingly realize this.” He also mentioned that Putin has repeatedly expressed his desire for a quick and peaceful resolution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Recently, US President Donald Trump has made several comments involving Putin, most of which are critical of Putin. On the 15th, Peskov responded to Trump’s recent “major statement” on Russia and Ukraine. Peskov stated that Trump’s statement regarding the Ukraine issue was very serious, including some content targeting President Putin himself. Russia needs time to analyze the statement. If Putin deems it necessary, he himself will respond personally. On the 16th, Peskov indicated that there is currently no plan for a phone call between Putin and Trump, but if necessary, arrangements can be quickly made.
