According to the Israel Times, on the 20th local time, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was treated for food poisoning and his corruption hearings were postponed. Additionally, due to the court’s impending summer recess, his next appearance could not be scheduled until as early as September.
The report states that due to Netanyahu’s absence from the regular cabinet meeting on the morning of the 20th local time, his office issued a statement saying that Netanyahu began feeling unwell in the evening. After a doctor visited his official residence for an examination, he was diagnosed with acute enteritis caused by consuming spoiled food.
Further examinations revealed that the Prime Minister’s condition is stable, but he is currently receiving intravenous fluids due to dehydration. The office also stated, “In accordance with medical advice, the Prime Minister will rest at home for the next three days and will handle state affairs during this period.”
As a result, the Jerusalem District Court canceled the scheduled corruption hearings on July 21st and 22nd. Coupled with the summer recess, it means Netanyahu might not appear again until as early as September.
