According to the “Milan Sports News”, Juventus is in talks with Atletico Madrid regarding the transfer of Molina.
Juventus is actively pushing forward with the acquisition of Molina from Atletico Madrid, who has become a key figure in the new General Manager Conte’s “dual engine” wing-back tactical system. Plans are in place for Canibiaso on the left and Molina on the right, working together to support Tudor’s 3412 system.
Molinea possesses excellent speed, technical skills, and assisting abilities, providing firepower for Irizar, Coquelin, and David in the front line. It is reported that Juventus has begun preliminary contact with Atletico.
Currently, Molina is not an easy sell at Atletico because the club needs to offload players to recoup funds, offsetting recent investments of over 100 million euros on players such as Barena, Calderon, Aldamá, and Ruggie. Additionally, negotiations for Chelsea defender Viga’s transfer to Atletico are also underway.
Due to both squad and financial pressures, Atletico coach Simeone has had to make personnel adjustments, and Molina is one of the most likely players to be sold. Thus, Juventus quickly seized the opportunity, viewing him as a prime target. Molina has received unanimous recognition from Conte, Giallinari, and Sporting Director Modrić, as well as head coach Tudor.
Atletico has set a price tag of approximately 25-30 million euros for Molina, but Juventus believes this is too high for a player whose contract expires in 2027. Conte hopes to negotiate a reduction in price or facilitate a buyout option to share costs. There is still a gap between the two sides, but both parties are willing to facilitate a deal and have ample time.
Juventus may include player exchanges in their negotiations, including the potential inclusion of Vlahović, Nicolas Gonzalez, or McKennie in the deal, although Atletico is not interested in these options at present. Meanwhile, Molina himself shows strong interest in returning to Serie A, despite being pursued by Saudi Arabian clubs and Premier League teams.
Juventus’ changes in the right flank have also driven their pursuit of Molina, with young Weah set to join Marseille on a loan plus buyout deal for 15 million euros. Alberto Costa has caught Atletico’s attention, with Juventus hoping to secure higher returns from him, especially after his outstanding performance in the Club World Cup.
It is important to note that if Molina is signed, he will occupy Juventus’ second and final non-EU player recruitment spot for the season, having already given way to David.
