[Report] On the 22nd local time, CNN revealed for the first time that U.S. President Donald Trump was present at his wedding in 1993, amidst controversy, when the controversial American businessman Jeffrey Epstein was also there. In response to CNN’s mention of this matter and the disclosure of related photos, Trump repeatedly scolded CNN as “fake news” and hung up on the interview call.
CNN disclosed photos from the scene, confirming for the first time that Epstein attended Trump’s wedding in 1993. This information had not been known previously.
During a brief CNN interview on the 22nd, when asked about the photos, Trump replied, “You must be joking with me,” then repeatedly scolded CNN as “fake news” and hung up on the phone.
Furthermore, CNN also revealed a video from the 1999 New York “Victoria’s Secret” fashion event, showing Trump and Epstein laughing before the show began.
In response to the photos and videos, White House Communications Director Steven Bannon issued a statement to CNN, stating, “This is merely the deliberate cutting of irrelevant video and photo fragments from public events for malicious inference.” “The fact is, the president has kicked him out of his own club because he is an oddball. It’s just the continuation of fake news fabricated by the Democratic and liberal media.”
CNN mentioned in its report that Trump’s relationship with Epstein dates back to the 1980s, when they frequently attended social events in Palm Beach and New York. So far, no judicial authority has charged Trump with any improper conduct related to Epstein.
Epstein was closely associated with numerous American politicians and business figures, and after being arrested for sexual crimes, he died in prison in August 2019, ruling it a suicide. During Trump’s presidential campaign in 2024, he promised to release documents related to Epstein’s case upon taking office. However, the first batch of documents were released at the end of February this year, without explosive new information. The Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation released a memo on the 7th of this month, determining that there is no credible evidence to suggest that Epstein possessed a “customer list” used for extortion against prominent people or that Epstein died from murder, and stated that they would not release more documents related to Epstein’s case.
The Trump administration initially hoped that the memo would conclude the Epstein case, but the above investigation conclusions sparked doubts and dissatisfaction within the Trump’s “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) camp. Many representatives within this camp demanded the release of all investigative records related to the “Epstein case.”
