On July 24th local time, it was learned that U.S. State Department Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigozzi stated at a press conference that the United States would not be attending a meeting on the “Two-State Solution” aimed at resolving the Israeli-Palestinian issue, which is set to take place at the United Nations soon.
It is reported that the “Two-State Solution” meeting is scheduled to take place later this month at the United Nations.
Currently, more than two-thirds of the United Nations member states have recognized the state of Palestine. The international community generally believes that the only way forward in resolving the Palestinian issue lies in implementing the “Two-State Solution,” which involves establishing a Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital and enjoying full sovereignty and independence. This fundamentally aims for a peaceful coexistence between Palestine and Israel, and for lasting peace in the Middle East region. (Xu Tao)
