Laos military’s emergency report
On July 26, the Lao military issued an urgent statement reporting that during a confrontation with several illegally crossing Cambodian armed individuals in the border area between Khambang and Ubon provinces in Laos, the Lao military engaged in intense firefights, apprehending 10 individuals and confiscating weapons.
According to the report from the Khambang Region Command of Laos, the incident occurred between July 24 and 25. Armed Cambodian individuals illegally crossed into Laotian territory, prompting the Lao military to quickly respond and engage in gunfire.
Following the conflict, the Lao military arrested 10 Cambodian armed individuals and seized four rifles and several grenades. Three individuals were killed on the scene, and one was injured. Currently, further interrogations and investigations are underway by the Lao authorities. (Reporter: Li Min)
