At 00:00 on July 29th local time, the Thai military reported that following the unconditional ceasefire agreement between Thailand and Cambodia, which officially came into effect at midnight on July 28th,
a full ceasefire was declared in the border conflict areas between Thailand and Cambodia.
From July 24th, a conflict erupted along the Thai-Cambodian border, with continuous days of gunfire between the two sides, each accusing the other of violating international law. On July 28th, Prime Minister Hun Mae Nai of Cambodia and Acting Prime Minister Prachatep Pornprasert held a special meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to discuss the situation on the border between the two countries. Following the meeting, a joint press conference was held where both nations agreed to a ceasefire. At 24:00 local time on July 28th, Beijing time at 1:00 am on July 29th, the ceasefire agreement between Thailand and Cambodia officially took effect.
