According to the WeChat public account “China Consulate General in Fukuoka,” as reported by Japan’s Meteorological Agency, a strong earthquake near the Kamchatka Peninsula is expected to cause a tsunami. The tsunami is expected to reach coastal areas of Miyagi Prefecture, Hidaka Prefecture, Kagoshima Prefecture, and Okinawa Prefecture starting at 12:30 PM today, with a height of about 1 meter. The China Consulate General in Fukuoka advises Chinese nationals living in these four prefectures (including islands) to closely monitor tsunami warnings and disaster prevention information. They are advised to immediately leave the coast, ports, and river mouth areas and seek higher ground. It is also recommended to prepare for disaster and emergency evacuation to ensure personal safety.
