The Meteorological Agency of Japan stated in a meeting held on the afternoon of July 30th, local time, that the impacts of the tsunami are expected to last for at least another day.
Following a strong earthquake off the eastern coast of Kamchatka on the morning of the 30th, the Meteorological Agency issued a tsunami warning for 17 regions across the country. It was predicted that parts of these areas would experience waves up to 3 meters high, urging people to remain highly vigilant and immediately evacuate to higher ground. Additionally, assistance should be provided to those around them in evacuating to safety. If there are no elevated areas nearby, individuals should seek refuge on the tops of tall buildings or quickly evacuate to areas away from the coast. Currently, many areas in Japan have observed the tsunami, with the highest wave reaching 0.6 meters.
