On August 1, local time, it was learned that Federal Reserve Board member Adriana Kugler announced her resignation effective August 8. The Federal Reserve stated in a declaration that Kugler will return to Georgetown University as a professor this fall.
Kugler’s term as a board member was originally set to end in January next year.
Her early departure allows President Trump to make a new round of personnel appointments to the Federal Reserve Board several months ahead of schedule.
The Federal Reserve did not provide further explanation for Kugler’s resignation. She had been nominated during the Biden administration and was confirmed by the Senate in 2023 to become the first Latina woman on the Federal Reserve Board. (Liu Xiaoqian)
