He wishes to make public all information but does not want anyone harmed or implicated due to it. Trump also stated that if there were any relevant information in the hands of those who possess the documents, they should have been disclosed before the presidential election.
Epstein was closely associated with a large number of American politicians and business figures. After being arrested for suspected sexual crimes, he died in prison in August 2019, leading to his death being ruled a suicide. During his campaign for president in 2024, Trump promised to release the Epstein case files upon taking office. However, when the first batch of documents were released at the end of February this year, there was no explosive new information.
The Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation issued a memorandum on July 7th, determining that there is no credible evidence indicating that Epstein had a “customer list” used to extort high-profile individuals, nor evidence suggesting that Epstein died from murder. They also stated that they would not release more documents related to the Epstein case going forward.
Trump has consistently claimed that “no one cares” about Epstein, and he cannot waste more time or energy on his case.
This shift in the Trump administration has caused shock within the United States, sparking doubts and dissatisfaction within the MAGA camp supporting Trump’s “Make America Great Again” initiative. Many people hope that the Department of Justice will publicly release all relevant documents related to the Epstein case. (Liu Xiaoqian)
