Russian St. Petersburg Mayor Vladimir Beglov stated on the 14th that
the 22350-class new destroyer, the “Amur Admiral”, was launched at the Northern Shipyard in Saint Petersburg.
The ceremony saw participation from Russian Navy Commander Moiseyev, Presidential Assistant and Maritime Commission Chairman Patryushev, and Beglov among others. Moiseyev explained that
the destroyer can perform a variety of combat tasks both near and far from home.
The “Amur Admiral” is the fifth ship of the 22350-class destroyer series.
Designed by the Russian Northern Design Bureau and built by the Northern Shipyard, the ship measures 135 meters in length and 16 meters in width, with a displacement of about 5,000 tons. It is capable of carrying high-precision weapons including the Zircon hypersonic cruise missile.
