Karras emphasized that European security is not subject to negotiation, and the EU will continue to support Ukraine and formulate the 19th round of sanctions against Russia.

The Speaker of the European Parliament, Metzola, stated on the same day that the goals of Ukraine and Europe are to achieve a lasting peace based on strong security guarantees.

Italian Prime Minister Meloni stated on the 16th that he is cautiously optimistic about the US-Russia leadership meeting. There is a dawn of peace in Ukraine, and although negotiations are complex, there is still a possibility to reach an agreement, with the key being security guarantees for Ukraine.

The Prime Minister of the Netherlands’ caretaker government, Schoff, also stated on the same day that he is pleased to see the prospect of a tripartite meeting between the United States, Ukraine, and Russia with the support of Europe. The Netherlands will continue to provide support to Ukraine.

On the 15th, local time, U.S. President Trump and Russian President Putin held a meeting in Anchorage, Alaska. Both sides evaluated the meeting positively but did not reach an agreement on issues such as the Russia-Ukraine ceasefire. The reactions from multiple parties were mixed.
