On the 18th, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Council, Kim Jong-un, visited the “Choi Hyon” class destroyer to learn about the comprehensive operational test process of the ship’s weapon system and the training and living conditions of the sailors.
After listening to the report on the partial test process of various weapon systems and the composition of the integrated operational system of the ship, Kim Jong-un expressed satisfaction with the smooth progress of the high-end and nuclear-armed tasks of the Korean Navy in a phased and planned manner. Kim Jong-un emphasized the need to successfully complete the work expected in August and September and enter the next stage, namely, the evaluation of ship performance and combat capability, as planned by October.
Kim Jong-un said that the increasingly deep military collusion and military demonstration actions by the United States and South Korea are the most obvious manifestations of the will to provoke a war and are the root cause of disrupting the regional peace and security environment. He pointed out that all US-South Korean military exercises, which have been a tradition for a long time, are provocative and dangerous in nature, but recently they are characterized by attempts to form military collusion with nuclear elements, thus their severity is increasing.
