On August 16th, local time, an accident occurred on Lake Baril in Kananaskis County, Alberta, Canada. A canoe capsized, causing three Chinese people on board to fall into the water. The father, over 60 years old, died immediately. The mother, 56 years old, was sent to the hospital due to hypothermia but is now in stable condition. Unfortunately, the son, who was also on the boat, fell into the water and is missing.

Local police said the accident was caused by strong winds on the lake that caused strong waves, leading to the capsizing of the canoe and throwing the three people into the icy lake water. The lake water, sourced from glaciers, is very cold.

On August 21st, the latest news came that after four days of searching by rescue personnel, the son’s body was found on August 20th.

It is reported that before the accident, the couple went to Calgary, Canada from China to visit their son. In order to let their parents experience the local scenery, the son chose to take them to Lake Baril for a leisurely boat ride, but unfortunately, the accident happened…
