At approximately 5:00 AM local time on July 3, four passengers aboard the “Tunu Prata Ma Jaja” ship that sank in the Bali Strait were safely rescued, including Riko, who was 28 years old and a crew member of the vessel. He recounted his self-rescue experience during the shipwreck.
Riko stated that around 23:30 on July 2nd,
he felt the ship tilting and immediately ran to find the highest point.
He was sleeping at the time and woke up due to the feeling of the ship tilting. At that moment, the engine had already shut off, and the overhead lights were completely tilted.
In the early hours of July 3rd, Indonesia experienced a shipwreck incident. The location was in the Bali Strait,
which has resulted in four deaths, 29 people being rescued, and 32 people still missing.
The sinking ferry departed from Gizapang Port in East Java Province, originally planned to sail to Legianmuk Port in Bali. The ferry carried a total of 65 people, including 53 passengers and 12 crew members, and transported 22 vehicles, including 14 large trucks. (Reporter: Li Lin)
