According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, a 5.5 magnitude earthquake occurred near the Tuguhara Islands in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, at 16:13 local time on July 3rd. The agency has issued a red alert for strong earthquakes. Since June 21st, the Japan Meteorological Agency has observed over 1000 earthquakes with magnitude 1 or above in this area. In response to the recent frequent occurrence of earthquakes, the Japan Meteorological Agency held an emergency meeting on the 2nd. It was stated that it is currently impossible to predict when the seismic activity will end, and residents are advised to take precautions and be prepared for any potential emergencies. The Tuguhara Islands, located in the southern part of Kagoshima Prefecture, consist of 12 islands, seven of which are inhabited.
