Izik Cohen has officially taken over as the Director of the IDF’s Operations Bureau.

On the afternoon of July 3rd, local time, the IDF announced that Major General Itzkor Cohen has officially taken over as the Director of the IDF’s Warfare Bureau.
Born in 1977, Major General Cohen has served as the commander of several battalions within the IDF, including the renowned Gevuti Infantry Brigade and the Sinai Division (the 162th Armored Regiment). In March 2025, Cohen’s predecessor, Oded Bassiuk, announced his retirement due to age.
