On June 27th, local time, the three-day G20 Third Coordinators’ Meeting concluded in North West Province of South Africa.
The meeting brought together representatives from major global economies. Representatives reached significant consensus on key issues such as multilateral cooperation, climate change, debt sustainability, and social equity.
On the closing day, delegates engaged in in-depth discussions around drafting a declaration of leaders. The meeting emphasized the importance of adhering to the principles of the United Nations Charter and the foundations of international law, focusing on the realization of sustainable development goals, and promoting the construction of a more equitable, inclusive, and resilient global governance system.
The atmosphere of the meeting was candid and practical, but the absence of the American delegation also raised concerns among some participants about the global inclusiveness of cooperation.
As the final meeting of this round of G20 coordinators’ meetings, the outcomes of this meeting will lay a solid foundation for the upcoming G20 Summit in Johannesburg, fostering the formation of a comprehensive and forward-looking declaration of leaders to jointly address global challenges and move towards a united, equal, and sustainable future.
