Around 1:33 AM local time on the 29th,
the H2A rocket No. 50 from the Seto Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture was launched into space.
The rocket carried the Japanese government’s “Greenhouse Gas and Water Circulation Observation Satellite” (GOSAT-GW).
Originally scheduled for launch on the 24th, the launch was postponed due to an abnormality discovered during inspection. The cause of the abnormality was a problem with the electrical system equipment of the second stage of the rocket. Subsequent replacement and re-inspection were completed.
It is reported that this rocket is Japan’s last H2A rocket. The H2A rocket is a two-stage liquid fuel rocket jointly developed by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. After the retirement of the H2A rocket, Japan’s main rocket will be replaced by the H3 rocket. (Reporter: Bai Chunyang)
