According to Xinhua News Agency on June 29, police in Tanzania reported a severe traffic accident in the northern Chiraujaro Province on June 28. Two buses collided head-on and caught fire, resulting in 38 deaths and 28 injuries.
Nurdin Babu, the Governor of Chiraujaro Province, confirmed this in an interview with Xinhua News Agency on June 29. He stated that some of the victims were from the same family who were traveling to Moshi City for a wedding.
Babu mentioned that the accident occurred around 17:00 local time. A bus suddenly lost control due to a tire blowout and collided severely with another bus, leading to both vehicles catching fire. Currently, out of the 28 injured, 22 have been discharged after treatment, while six are still receiving medical care at the hospital.
