According to a report by France’s “Le Journal du Dimanche” on June 28, amidst the doubts about the effectiveness of the “Midnight Hammer” operation targeting Iranian nuclear facilities, the Pentagon revealed new details at a meeting on June 26 to prove its efficacy. Defense Secretary James Mattis was infuriated by the debate and insisted on expressing his support for President Trump. He passionately criticized the media, saying, “With decisive military action, President Trump created the conditions for ending the war. Destroy, crush, eliminate Iran’s nuclear capabilities—choose your word.”
To continue proving the effectiveness of the strike, General Dana Carney, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, revealed that two agents had been dedicated to studying the Iranian nuclear program for 15 years.
After the U.S. launched its strike, Carney confirmed, “For 15 years, two agents have been researching the target of Iran’s nuclear program—Fould.” He continued, “Every corner, every pitfall, every piece of equipment entering or leaving, local geological conditions, and the materials used have all been studied by these spies.” He did not specify whether they were native Americans, naturalized Iranians, or Mossad agents from Israel.
Historians, authors of the “Intelligence Secret Map Collection,” Bruno Forini, and several other observers told France’s RTL news channel that “they are unlikely to be native Americans raised in Anglo-Saxon culture.” Forini believes that to integrate into Iranian society, one must possess “high talent.”
According to General Carney, the expertise of the two agents allowed the United States to employ “precision bombs” for effective strikes. “It was precisely their understanding of the need for deep-penetration drilling bombs to effectively destroy Iranian nuclear facilities,” he emphasized, “They initiated a special project, collaborating with industry and tactical experts to develop GBU-57 giant drilling bombs. After hundreds of test launches and full-size weapons hitting high-fidelity targets, the sole objective was to precisely destroy targets at selected time and space points within our country.”
The detailed explanations by the Pentagon also hinted at the possibility of secret operations. Forini stressed to RTL news channel, “In this operation, it is said that agents received batches of drone parts that could be used to destroy air defense facilities, especially Fould.” It is believed that these two agents had subsequently left Iran and returned to the United States.
