Israel’s Defense Forces announced on June 30th local time that in recent weeks, the IDF has completed reconnaissance and demolition operations targeting an underground tunnel in the southern Khan Yunis area of the Gaza Strip. The demolished tunnel spanned a length of 2 kilometers and was approximately 20 meters deep.
The IDF stated that Hamas had used this tunnel as a hideout and military stronghold. Soldiers inside the tunnel discovered residential areas belonging to the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas). Part of the tunnel was located beneath the former Khan Yunis school building.
Furthermore, the IDF mentioned that in recent weeks’ other operations, the 188th Armored Brigade unit collaborated with the Israeli Air Force, destroying hundreds of military facilities from above and below ground, killing dozens of Palestinian armed individuals, and discovering a significant amount of weapons in the region.
As of now, there has been no response from Hamas. (CCTV) Wei Ran
