NBC also stated that it is unclear how long the new portrait will be displayed in the Colorado State Capitol.
According to previous reports by The Hill and other media outlets, Trump criticized the portrait of him hanging in the Colorado State Capitol as “being intentionally distorted to an extent I may never have seen before,” and said the artist who created the portrait “lost their talent with age.” Trump also demanded the removal of the portrait. AFP reported on April 6th that the artist, Sara Bodman, stated in a statement that she accurately completed the portrait, which directly negatively impacted her business due to Trump’s comments.
