Xinhua News Agency reports that the Houthi armed forces in Yemen announced on July 1st that they launched a ballistic missile and three drones towards Israel, targeting four targets including Ben-Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.
A statement released by the Houthi armed forces spokesperson, Yehia Saleh, through the organization’s controlled Masirah TV station stated that the Houthi missile force conducted a special military operation against Ben-Gurion Airport, launching a “Palestine-2” hypersonic ballistic missile. The statement mentioned that the missile “successfully hit its target,” causing “interruptions to airport operations.”
According to the Israeli Times, air defense alarms were sounded across various locations in Israel that day, with the military reporting that the Israeli Air Force intercepted a missile fired from Yemen.
In his statement, Saleh mentioned that the Houthi armed forces also utilized three drones to strike three “sensitive targets” in Israel, located in Tel Aviv, Ashqelon near the southern Gaza Strip, and Eilat, a port city in the southern Red Sea.
Saleh stated that the Houthi armed forces would continue their supportive military operations until Israel “stops its aggression and lifts the blockade on Gaza.”
According to data released by the Houthi armed forces on June 26th, since mid-March, this group has launched 309 (or more) ballistic missiles, hypersonic missiles, and drones towards Israel.
