[Report] According to the “Beast Daily” in the United States and the “Volksblad” in the Netherlands, on July 1st, the expression made by Queen Maxima of the Netherlands during a photo with US President Donald Trump at the NATO summit in The Hague was questioned as potentially mimicking Trump. However, Queen Maxima has denied this claim in an interview with the “Volksblad”.
“I just said ‘thank you’ to those who helped me,” explained Queen Maxima. She also mentioned that meeting with Trump after the NATO summit was “a pleasant experience.”
The “Beast Daily” described how Trump was posing for a photo with King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima. After Trump said “Thank you so much,” Queen Maxima turned around and faced the media, making a “exaggerated” mouth gesture, which sparked controversy. A writer from Fox News at the time commented that she could clearly be imitating Trump’s mouth shape.
