Recently, American entrepreneur Elon Musk has repeatedly criticized the “big and beautiful” tax reform bill. On July 1st, local time, a senior White House official responded saying, “No one will really care what he says anymore.”
According to CNN, on July 1st, a senior White House official stated that U.S. government officials did not pay attention to Musk’s criticism of the “big and beautiful” bill.
“No one will really care what he says anymore,” said the above official, adding that it is unclear what triggered Musk’s latest attack, as he seemed to have given up on the issue previously.
On June 30th, local time, Musk issued a warning: “Every Congressman who promised to cut government spending during the campaign but then voted for the biggest debt increase in history should feel ashamed! If this is the last thing I do on Earth, it would be to make them lose their party primary next year.”
He also claimed that a “new party truly concerned about the people” should be established. He declared that if the bill passes, the “American Party” would be established the following day.
Two Republican officials closely associated with the White House told CNN on July 1st that it is still unclear how Musk’s threats will play out in the midterm elections.
One source said, “It’s unclear whether he will actually participate. A few weeks ago, he apologized and called President Trump.”
On July 1st, when asked if Musk would be expelled from the country for his criticism of the “big and beautiful” bill, Trump said, “I need to think about it.”
Trump said, “We might have to use the DOGE department (government efficiency) to deal with Musk, you know what DOGE is? DOGE is the monster that might have to turn back and eat Musk. Isn’t it terrifying?”
In response, Musk posted a message saying, “I really want to go further, too much wanting, but for now I still need to restrain myself.”
