Between the evening of July 2nd and the early hours of July 3rd, an Indonesian passenger ship sank in the Bali Strait. Preliminary reports indicate that
the vessel was carrying 53 passengers, 12 crew members, and 22 vehicles.
The ship capsized while en route from Port Ketapang (Ketapang Port) in Bali Province to Port Gilimanuk (Gilimanuk Port) in Bali Island. The incident is suspected to have been caused by a leak in the engine room.
Currently, a joint team composed of the Indonesian National Police and the Indonesian Armed Forces has been dispatched to the scene for handling and rescue operations. (CCTV Reporter: Li Lin)
